An 18th Century Portrait of a Lady in a Blue Silk Dress with Undercarriage, Lace Collars & Cuffs resting beside a Classical design Sarcophagus in Gilt Frame. Dimensions approximately 65.5cm x 75cm including frame. 61.5cm x 52cm canvas size. Provenance - My grandparents were Garforth-Bles and listed in Burkes, and had the picture for as long as I remember (I am 64) and we always thought it was of a distant family member. My sister worked at Sotherby's some years ago, and she checked the painting when she was there, and thought it was an original and the artist at that time commanded £2-3,000 pounds. Also our family going further back were painters to the Dutch royal court.
